Gair Dance Troupe Of Rajasthan ( लाल आंगी गैर नृत्य दल बाड़मेर राजस्थान )
गैर नृत्य का इतिहास : गोल घेरे में इस नृत्य की संरचना होने के कारण यह ‘घेर’ और कालांतर में ‘गैर’ कहा जाने लगा। गैर नृत्य करने वालों को ‘गैरिया’ कहते हैं। यह होली के दूसरे दिन से प्रारम्भ होता है तथा 15 दिन तक चलता है। यह मेवाड़ व बाड़मेर क्षेत्र का प्रसिद्ध लोक नृत्य है जो पुरुषों द्वारा सामूहिक रूप से गोल घेरा बनाकर ढोल, बांकिया, थाली आदि वाद्ययंत्रों के साथ हाथों में डंडा लेकर किया जाता है। इस नृत्य को देखने से ऐसा लगता है मानो तलवारों से युद्ध चल रहा है। इस नृत्य की सारी प्रक्रियाएं और पद संचालन तलवार युद्ध और पट्टेबाजी जैसी लगती हैं। मेवाड़ के गैरिये नृत्यकार सफेद अंगरखी, धोती व सिर पर केसरिया पगड़ी धारण करते हैं जबकि बाड़मेर के गैरिए सफेद ओंगी, (लम्बी फ्रॉक) और तलवार के लिए चमड़े का पट्टा धारण करते हैं। इसमें पुरुष एक साथ मिलकर वृत्ताकार रूप में नृत्य करते-करते अलग-अलग प्रकार का मण्डल बनाते हैं। मेवाड़ और बाड़मेर के गैर नृत्य की मूल रचना एक ही प्रकार है किंतु नृत्य की लय, चाल और मण्डल में अंतर होता है। गैर के अन्य रूप हैं आंगी-बांगी (लाखेटा गांव), गैर नृत्य (मरुप्रदेश), तलवारों की गैर नृत्य (मेवाड़-मेनार गांव)। यह मुख्यतः भील जाति की संस्कृति को प्रदर्शित करता है कणाना’ बाड़मेर का प्रसिद्ध गैर नृत्य है।
गैर के प्रकार –
1. तलवारों की गैर- यह मेनार (उदयपुर) की प्रसिद्ध है। इस गैर में कलाकार चूड़ीदार पायजामा, अंगरखी, कमरबंधा, पगड़ी, साफा पहनता है। महाराणा अमर सिंह के समय मधुश्याम जी के नेतृत्व में मेवाड़ से मुगल सेना के अधिकार को हटाने के लिए एक योजना के तहत मुगल सैनिकों को मेनारिया परिवार ने जीमने का न्यौता दिया। जिसमें ढोल के प्रथम डंके में सभी सैनिकों के सामने पतल रखे गये, ढोल के दूसरे डंके में भोजन परोसा गया तथा तीसरे डंके में सभी मुगल सैनिकों को तलवार से काट दिया गया।
2. आंगी-बांगी गैर नृत्य- यह गैर लाखेटा गाँव (बाड़मेर) की प्रसिद्ध है। इसमें पांवों में बूंघरु, धोती, कमीज, साफा, आंगी पहने जाते हैं। चंग व ढोल वाद्य यंत्र काम में लिये जाते हैं।
